Internal Audit Division

The mission of the Internal Audit Division is to ensure the Ho-Chunk Nation’s assets are protected through inspection, audits, observations, and investigations, and to verify compliance with applicable rules and regulations. 

The Internal Audit Division strives to perform its duties in a professional, objective, and proactive manner.

The Internal Audit Division consists of the Internal Audit Manager and the Gaming Internal Auditors.  The Gaming Internal Auditors report to the Internal Audit Manager and the Internal Audit Manager reports to the Gaming Commission Administrator.

The Internal Audit Manager’s duty is to monitor regulatory compliance within the Nations Gaming facilities. On behalf of the Ho-Chunk Nation Gaming Commission, the Internal Audit Manager examines financial reports, conducts investigations and directs the audit process. The Internal Audit Division has the authority to initiate all appropriate measures necessary to regulate compliance, including but not limited to, the retention of outside auditors and other agents.

The Gaming Internal Auditors duty is to work as assigned under the supervision of the Internal Audit Manager. The Gaming Internal Auditors have a duty to conduct themselves with integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency. 

Neither the Internal Audit Manager nor the Gaming Internal Auditors are invested with the powers of the Gaming Commission and shall not represent himself or herself as having such authority.
